Atonement

It is God who is our mighty power
But David thought it was his finest hour
He went through a prideful phase
But then he repents and prays

As fast as seven eleven
God sends fire from heaven
Reconciled to the Father
Nothing could ever bother

He was humbled and trusting
David started adjusting
Doing what God had instructed
David’s devotion reconstructed

Destruction was stopped
Here’s what to adopt
Learn from past history
It’s not a mystery

The answer for you and for me
Is always that Christ is the key
So share with others
Sisters and brothers

Let us celebrate good actions
Credit God for all transactions
Pray for good leaders
And all our readers

Problems are not stop signs
Instead they are guide lines
Tough times are a predecessor
To being a good successor

Seek God at all times
Praise Him with our rhymes
Follow the way
And always pray

About Mark Shields

Mark works in the Information Systems Department for an Insurance Company. He volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church and runs the 10:50 worship service computer. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. You’re invited to join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
