I have been studying recently in Psalm 120-123 and writing posts at This Day with God. During the time of David, people fought against each other just like we do today. Think of the fighting that goes on between religions and the out casting of those that don’t believe in their specific form of faith. Sometimes the battle is a negative culture being pushed on people like a cancer on an otherwise healthy society. The problem is sin but the answer is God’s Son who paid the price for that sin.
The right way to handle situations like people lying and doing harm to us is to continue to do things right, pray for advice, listen to friends, and follow the will of God. The path to follow has been made easier because of Christ. We were touched with something different when God gave us His Son as an example to follow.
There is comfort from the Lord during time of difficulty or danger. He never goes off duty day or night; protecting us from the heat of everyday issues and guarding us in the darkness of a secular society that secretly tries to kill the soul. God is big enough to be a sufficient helper. As we face deadlines at work, He makes sure obstacles are removed. As we handle crisis situations with family, He is the wisest counselor. As we struggle with health issues, there is comfort in knowing He is the great physician.
All we have to do is go to Him in prayer and our issues are resolved in His perfect timing. Remember that the script of our life is written with a pencil. God has the eraser. He is there to help us make the needed adjustments if we get off course. So go for it!
Sure it may be scary at times to step out in faith but the rewards are worth the risk. Some of the rewards of God include joy, peace, and prosperity. The Bible is filled with lessons and so are sermon messages or Bible Study sessions. The simple things in life that God gives can brighten our life more than the great occasions that cost so much. We can continuously celebrate our Creator on a daily basis with each sunrise or sunset. We can celebrate each season as the flowers appear in the countryside and the meadows become flush with new green grass.
Continue to seek God’s help and direction daily with thankfulness, humility, and optimism, because He is the ONE with the reward. What type of attitudes should we have when working through problems? Should we be patient and endure the situation? Should we step it up with extra effort during these times? The Bible has all the answers. Join me or check in often for thoughts and ideas as I share on a daily basis at: This Day with God.
