I’ve been reading and studying over the last few weeks in the Book of Esther. I would like to sum up my study in this poem: Lessons from the Book of Esther.
Unwise choices lead to unpleasant predicaments.
King Xerxes didn’t consult with the queen.
He then went through a lot of grief.
Looking for a new queen would then convene.
The new queen was named Esther.
She followed instructions of the plan;
Waiting for God’s help and timing;
And then a new direction began.
Everyone is very valuable to God.
He knows everyone by name.
Even the Prodigal Son;
Who is recorded with fame.
The woman at the well;
And the criminal on the cross;
Appreciate their story;
So we are not at a loss.
Esther was placed in her position with purpose;
And had the courage to confront;
She wasn’t afraid to be the right person;
And take on the challenge up front.
Be the right person at the right time.
God is with you where you are.
Take on the tough opponents in life.
Ask God for help in being a bright star.
Seek His will like Esther;
And the Lord will lend a hand.
Have the courage and take the lead.
He will help to make a firm stand.
Being open and letting people know
Who you are can serve you well.
Esther told about her Jewish background
And her people were able to safely dwell.
Like Mordecai find a purpose to work for;
The reward is beyond what one can see;
Work hard to help others;
And be all God meant you to be.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve learned some great lessons from Esther. Now the plan is to learn more lessons as I continue my journey through the Bible. Next stop is Ecclesiastes; a book that deals with our emptiness even though we have everything. Join me or check in often for thoughts and ideas as I share on a daily basis at: This Day with God.
