Fortified with His Word

Fortified with God’s Word,
The truth is not blurred.
There is no way to lose
And it is such Good News.

The belt of truth will bless
And the armor of righteousness
Will give the upper hand
And help to withstand.

Set the heart on worshipping the Lord
And fighting for His reward.
Guarding against evil with skill
And using the perfectly disciplined will.

Sin is no longer the master,
Listen to a Pastor
It is broken
And God has spoken.

No longer under the law
For there is no flaw
But it is under grace
He has saved a place.

Lift the name of Christ high
And see what can transpire.
Keeping evil at bay
And getting stronger day by day.

Collecting one more win
Letting go of what has been.
More victories than grains of sand;
Praise God and lift out the hand.

It is truth that has won
And it is all done
There is reason for elation
It’s in our declaration

About Mark Shields

Mark works in the Information Systems Department for an Insurance Company. He volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church and runs the 10:50 worship service computer. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. You’re invited to join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
