This poem was inspired by a sermon at First Methodist Church of Waco.
He touched the untouchable;
Proclaiming the Good News;
Even those with leprosy;
If willing to choose.
He freed the imprisoned;
Proclaiming freedom for all;
Freedom from ailments;
Like the paralytic who stood tall.
He lifted the fallen;
Like the woman they wanted to stone;
And the tax-collector named Matthew;
There was no one He would disown.
He forgave the unforgivable;
No one was at a loss;
His life was the atonement;
Bearing sins on the cross.
