Preparing for the Call

Preparing for the call of the Lord
and looking forward
to being committed
Like Daniel who submitted.

Learn all you can,
get on a plan,
work with distinction,
like it’s a mission.

Having knowledge
Is not always from college
but from the Lord
giving the ultimate award.

Handling peer pressure
we need a refresher.
remember Christ is the example
and the enemy we trample.

Take care of the body and mind;
then become aligned;
start to imagine;
that good things will happen.

Be led to the cross;
know the boss;
remember what’s been done
by God’s only Son.

Be disciplined,
and interested,
don’t give in,
but win.

Do what God wants;
forget the taunts;
seek the good way of life
without any strife.

Be smart,
take part,
surrender all,
and accept the call.

About Mark Shields

Mark works in the Information Systems Department for an Insurance Company. He volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church and runs the 10:50 worship service computer. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. You’re invited to join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
