Like an enormous tree
visible to you and me
to the ends of the earth
with great worth.
A tree with beautiful leaves;
underneath a soothing breeze
with abundant fruit
granting plenty of lute.
Providing protection;
a place for reflection
and food
for every dude.
Pride is like this big tree
to a certain degree
so cut it down
with a frown.
Trim off its branches;
turn them into ashes.
Strip off its foliage;
turn its fruit into spoilage
Leave only the stump
in one big clump
with roots in the ground
forming a mound.
The tree like pride
shouldn’t rule or guide.
Only God is sovereign;
In Heaven there’s no problem.
So be humbled
for many have stumbled.
Put God in charge;
He’s so very large.
Ask for advice
and to be wise.
Ask for humility
and stability.
Like a tree being pruned,
an instrument fine tuned;
new things begin to happen
new tunes we begin tapping.
Removing unproductive aspects
of character and assets.
cutting them out
so something will sprout.
Good things happen
And bad things forgotten
as we thrive in faith
and accept the ONE that is great.
