My Part of the World

After over six decades of Baylor University playing their football games at Floyd Casey Stadium, the main part was imploded last Saturday morning. Here is a link to an article about the stadium.

Also in recent news, Waco’s own reality TV stars, Chip and Joanna Gaines has bought the Elite Café. Here is the article: Magnolia buys historic Elite Cafe. The restaurant near the Baylor University campus was recently shut down after serving the community with fine food for many years. Elvis Presley ate there in the 50’s.

Finally, here is a cinematic vision of Waco, Texas: Waco Tourism Video Link. My neighbor was asked to direct, produce, shoot and edit this video.

The take away for me in the local news in my own community is how things change but that’s okay if it is for the better. Even though the old stadium was imploded, Baylor has a new football stadium. Even though the Elite Café went out of business, the local Fixer Upper TV reality stars have bought it and we will get a chance to see what they turn it into. I’d love to read about the interesting things happening in your part of the world. Leave a comment or share what’s going on.

The take away for me in the recent local news in my own community is how things change in such a short time. I guess change can be okay if it is for the better but sometimes it’s a little sad when the places we went to and created great memories are no longer there.
