Honest Abe’s Birthday

Born into poverty,
Self-educated,
The best ever
Some have stated.

Facing challenges
With great patience
Through the toughest times
Being gracious.

Keeping justice rolling
And building steam
As righteousness like
An ever-flowing stream.

With integrity
To repair what is broken
To set things right
Being outspoken.

About equal rights,
Liberty for all,
Seeing it through,
Standing tall.
