Unstoppable Life

We are in a sermon series called “Unstoppable” at First United Methodist Church Waco. Last Sunday, the message titled “Unstoppable Life” was presented and can be watched at this link.  The poem below was inspired by the message.

Kingdom living requires
Passion that’s lighting fires
Changes in our living
Shaping lives and giving

Required is redemption and surrender
With desire to be a big contender
To receive this great reward
Always press on and toward.

It is not power or pleasure
But Jesus that is our treasure
Not prestige or many possessions
But Jesus answering all questions

Required is a life giver
And Jesus can deliver
The power of Father God
Our life is no longer flawed

Required is God living in us
Serving without a major fuss
Different from the world
And love is then unfurled

It is an unstoppable existence
Because of Jesus we go the distance
It is a life of eternal joy
And nothing can ever destroy

About Mark Shields

Mark works in the Information Systems Department for an Insurance Company. He volunteers as a member of the media ministry team at his church and runs the 10:50 worship service computer. A few years ago, he started an on-line Bible study guide called “This Day with God Devotional”. He uses this as a tool in his journey through the Bible. We live in a very busy world with busy schedules so this tool has helped him continue with daily Bible reading and study. You’re invited to join him on this journey or check in every so often to read his thoughts.
